New Terran Unit for Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm Teased - Could it be a Terran Transforming Hellion?

No release date updates yet but a new Starcraft 2 Terran unit was teased and it will be available in Starcraft 2's expanded multiplayer mode. Details and picture after the break.

This makes completely no sense to me, more like a super SCV with lasers and bazookas. Perhaps SCV gets a mech upgrade? Marines gets a prototype manned robot? The right arm certainly looks like a shield, but what's the thing protruding off the top? Fortunately, TheStarcraft2dude on Youtube has posted a video giving a probable illustration to the silhouette of the above figure. Watch the video to know more.

BlizzCon 2011 is expected to reveal what on Mar Sara this unit is, as well as further teases for any new upcoming units. If you had not realized, to play Heart of the Swarm you will need a copy of Wings of Liberty to begin with. Hopes are high on the expectations of 2012 release, but Blizzard still keep their mouths sealed.

Battlefield 3 BETA Hacked - At the Risk of your EA Account

Don't look surprised, EA and DICE would've seen this coming. Having a trial-version or BETA-versions hacked is just as common as wiping dust off your table. Electronic Arts and DICE, seemingly outraged has lifted their banhammer and threatens to suspend any EA accounts and all associated games if you play on the hacked server of Battlefield 3. Details after the break.

The Beta version of Battlefield 3 was released exclusively in the US not long ago. The thing is, hackers had discovered a way to tweak the player cap on Operation Metro (one of the maps in beta which was showcased in E3 previously), raising it from 32 to 128. Now, DICE has acknowledged the hacking of the Beta version and has now issued a warning to all users currently still attempting or already managed to uncap the limitation.

If you were and are part of the hackers or even users alike, the risk of your EA account and all games and services associated to it will be suspended regardless of being legit or not. DICE rep has voiced that players should avoid the "temptation" and remain within official servers to prevent their accounts from compromised.

Now truth to be told, I'm of the opinion that this may be a little too overreacted. If hackers can get within the boundaries of modifying the game, that means certain exploitation has been found and hence could pretty well serve a bug discovery for EA. After all, Beta's were meant to be a trial designed to dig out any bugs, weren't it? I wouldn't want to explore a Beta only within specific limitations if I were you.

SteelSeries Sensei - The Overkill Gaming Mouse with an ARM CPU

You still don't own a phone with a processor? Too late, your mouse has just pwned you. Details after the break.

What are the features:

  1. The SteelSeries Sensei comes with an adjustable sensitivity - up to a mind-whooping 11,400 DPI as compared to conventional mice. This advancement comes from its 32 bit ARM processor integrated in the core of the mouse, allowing up to double the processing power of any given mouse. Now it doesn't mean it contains some 1Ghz processor - no, that's beyond overkill. It incorporates a 75Mhz 32-bit ARM right inside the heart of the Sensei. The real advancement in this is that the mouse itself does all the calculations for you and inputs the data directly into the I/O without the need for the computer to reintegrate the calculations manually.
  2. Mr. Sensei comes with a 10.8 Megapixel capable of rendering up to 12,000 FPS or 150 inches per second. It comes with integrated path correction which eliminates mouse path stuttering and inaccurate tracking due to surface. This comes under user settings and can be disabled/enabled upon request.
  3. The SteelSeries trademark EXACTTECH technology with ExactLift, ExactAim, ExactAccel (similar to on-the-fly feature) and ExactSens.
  4. An LCD display under the mouse providing you with instant customization without the need to pop back into desktop and open up the software settings. You can even customize how you want your default screen to look like, for example throwing in your gaming clan or simply your trademark pseudonym.
  5. 3 points of illuminations offer up to 24-bit 16.8 million real color illuminations. This can further be integrated with user profiles and swap colours to your liking.
What you will miss:
  1. No wireless support.
  2. For any person who doesn't recognize the brand this will not appeal much as a professional grade gaming mouse at all. It just doesn't look that way.
  3. It costs $123, about the same as Razer Mamba.

Homefront 2 now Under Development with Crytek

The first in series of Homefront was released back in March and proved to be quite a success for THQ. Now THQ has announced cooperation with Crytek, the creator of the world's best-acclaimed graphics FPS and Open World Gamplay, in development of the next in the series, Homefront 2. Details after the break.

Crytek has blown the spectacles off the world in the gaming industry by delivering unsurpassed graphics that made it to gaming platforms to date. Cevat Yerli, CEO and President of Crytek even pronounced approval of this cooperation and stated:
“We see Homefront as a really strong universe that has a lot of potential and that has been expertly created and marketed by THQ, We believe that bringing our level of quality, creativity and production values to the next Homefront title, creates an opportunity for both THQ and Crytek to deliver a truly blockbuster game.  It’s really important to us that THQ has the faith in giving us a lot of creative freedom over one of its most important properties to allow us to bring the Homefront world to life in a new and innovative way.”
There's the deal - THQ and Crytek working together to provide Homefront 2 with yet another mind-boggling experience. No confirmations on release dates or any other information have been provided, however THQ has it under schedule for 2014. I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping that it doesn't feature an extreme sense of hanging after the game ended.

Corsair Vengence M60 FPS Gaming Mouse - Preview

Corsair has been well-known for their excellent build quality products over the years. Now they have announced the new Corsair Vengence Series gaming mouse and keyboard. This entry serves to cover the preview of the M60 FPS gaming mouse priced very competitively at $69.99 with an excellent suite of features.

This mouse is specifically designed to feed your desires of intense FPS gaming, built from high quality materials and incorporates professional technology. Juicy details after the break.

Features:

  1. Looking for speed and precision? No worries. The Corsair M60 gaming mouse grants you the Avago ADNS-9500 LaserStream Gaming Sensor providing a seamless 5700DPI sensor. Gaming on a three-monitor widescreen is no feat for its horsepower tracking up to 165 inches per second.
  2. Revolutionary ergonomic design with adjustable weight balance. There are up to three adjustable zones allowing you to customize the way your mouse appeals to your hold. The integrated Sniper button automatically adjusts DPI accordingly as you scope (DPI adjustment is pre-programmed), as you will require precision over speed when aiming down the sights.
  3. Excellent build quality. The chassis of the mouse is made from aluminium unibody structure and brushed aluminium covers the bottom of the mouse. The contoured body is covered with soft-touch, textured surfaces for maximum comfort.
  4. Lift detection. Repositioning your mouse is now as precise as ever, courtesy of the integrated sensor as you lift the mouse off the surface, the laser sensor adjusts accordingly and continues to track your movements. What's more, you can even adjust your desired lift distance to fit your play style. But I highly doubt anyone would play with their mice in mid-air for long-terms.
  5. Up to 1000Hz (1ms) response time. Adjustable options: 2ms, 4ms and 8ms.
  6. Specially designed high-mass rubberized solid metal scrolling you gives you a sturdy feeling and provides swift, precise movements.
  7. On-the-fly sensitivity and hardware adjustable DPI, with surface quality detection.
  8. 8 programmable Omron grade buttons promising up to 8 mil clicks.
  9. Gold plated connectors - pretty much a must for all professional mouse nowadays.
What you might miss:
  1. This has no support for wireless.
  2. There isn't much eye-candy of colours as compared to Razer products.
  3. The logo does not light up, but its sibling, M90 does.
All in all, the Corsair M60 gaming mouse provides professional features and amazing build quality of entirely aluminium unibody at an affordable pricing. This looks very promising at its price tag of $69.99 but it hasn't been released into the market yet. I have pre-planned to order this mouse and will come up with a review for you guys once I get hold of it.
