How to Center AdSense or Advertisement blocks in Blogger

This will be an extremely simple and straightforward tutorial. At times when your ads are displayed on cross column zone - the column which covers the entire page width, they are automatically left aligned and that may introduce certain alignment discomfort. Here's an extremely simple yet working way to align your ads in the center.

Open up HTML editor and expand widget templates. Search for the word "Adsense" and look for the one you wish to align. The one on the top cross column zone is usually "Adsense1".

After you have dug out the section, follow the next picture precisely. Introduce the <center></center> tags.

Always preview the page before saving. Now you're done!

How to Remove Blogger NavBar Entirely

The Blogger NavBar hasn't been really helpful and most would opt to remove it. However it is restricted by default. This tutorial is rather short and simple yet serves to remove the entire NavBar feature and all the quick-edit tools appearing all over your page even when you have signed in.

Details after the break.

Now I have to warn you, doing so will remove not only the NavBar, but the wrench logo for on-the-spot layout editing and quick edit pencils will disappear as well. This shouldn't cause much of a problem as you can easily access them through your Blogger settings.

Follow the image above and search for </head> and <body.

Copy the following code

<!--<body>-->

and paste as shown in the image

Save and you're done.

Note: Always prepare a backup before performing any HTML changes.

How to Move and Remove Locked Widgets on Blogger

Sometimes your Blogger template just restricts you from moving or even removing certain widgets. This could be extremely frustrating as you cannot move and arrange them into way you prefer or simply because you don't want to see it, at all. However, a simple HTML edit will fix this problem.

Details after the break.

Open up HTML editor under customize option and expand widget templates.
Search for your specific widget name, usually a number "1" follows behind the widget. For example, Attribution widget will show as Attribution1 in HTML. Search for the correct one and you'll see this:

locked=true

Now, change it to

locked=false

The widget will now be free to move about under layout section. Certain widgets which are not removable will work this way. This is also how you remove the Attribution widget which was locked by default. After you have unlocked the widget, go back to layout and select "edit".

The "Remove" button will appear in which it previously wasn't and you will be able to dump it out of your blog easily.

How to Speed up Torrent Downloads. Packet Filtering Tutorial

Sick of sloooooow dragging download speeds of P2P downloads? Sick of your government blocking your trackers and seeds? Pissed off with the government ISP throttling your download speeds down to a miserable crawl? If you're a Streamyx user and on top of enjoying top of the world services and grateful throttling broadband, here is the solution for you.

There is no guarantee for this to work, it depends on your current connection properties. Sometimes you might have full access to the internet, but hardware limitations and geographical differences. If this method doesn't work for you, don't worry. All you have to do is delete the folder and you're done. No installation is required.
    1. Make sure you have java runtime environment installed.
    2. First things first,  Launch your bittorent client and check for the listening port. If you're on BitComet it should be shown as a green button. If you don't, then you might have to deal with some port forwarding.
    3. Open options and make sure these two options are checked. I always believed higher listening port equals better, so I kept refreshing it for the sake of it.
    4. Download the Web Filter Client.
    5. Open cmd. (type in cmd at windows search if you don't know where to find it)
    6. Run ipconfig /release
    7. Run ipconfig /renew
    8. Run ipconfig /flushdns
    9. Unzip package and open the folder.
    10. Run paw-server.jar and wait for the earth icon to appear on your taskbar's right side.
    11. When the server is up, run paw-gui.jar. You should see this splash screen.
    12. Don't make any new connections, it should run admin server by default. Check for default values.

    13. Now launch your respective Bittorent client. (I recommend BitComet though).
    14. Try out your download stability and speed then report back down below.
    15. To exit, close the client. Then go to the earth icon on your bottom right and shutdown server.
    15. I do not guarantee this to work (again), at least try and report back. I have been using this for years already.

    Good luck.
